Spring workshop a big success!
A crowd of fifty recorder players and early music enthusiasts gathered at Carolina Friends School on March 18 for the spring workshop, “Berlin to Barcelona, Munich to Madrid.” We spent a beautiful spring Saturday with expert teachers from near and far. We renewed acquaintances with some we had not seen since last year’s workshop, sharpened our playing skills, and became acquainted with some new music.
Participants were able to take classes from Marilyn Boenau (Boston), Larry Lipnik (New York), Stewart Carter (Winston-Salem), Michelle Oswell (Washington, DC), Patricia Petersen & Kathy Schenley (Durham). The variety and intriguing subjects of the sessions made each of us wish that we could be at least two people for the day, and sample twice as many offerings.
Many thanks to everyone who helped with our spring workshop, which was a great success. Special thanks to Bev Koester for organizing the refreshments, and to those who brought goodies; our hospitality has become legendary! And, thanks to those who traveled from near and far to share their enjoyment in early music.
